Diet-Update due to medical reasons

Its time for another diet change due to the bunnies health status. Some of you may already know the whole story, which I informed you a lot about on our Instagram. If not please watch our story highlight called «vet» and read our posts about their health (the newest one will be linked below)

Due to that we have to have another diet change. More healthy stuff and less pellets. The structure food I give them is with grains, which is not so good for Louies condition. I am currently reducing this structure food and replacing it with something else. I already noticed that both are way more interested in their hay, which is amazing!

(We are not sponsored by any brand to mention their name)

So what does their diet look like now?

I haven’t changed their fresh food diet, they get a small bowl each, each morning. Cut up salad and I mix up what I add to it (carrot, fennel, parsnip, kohlrabi leaves, kale, fresh herbs such as parsley and basil)

For the dry food the now get a healthy mix with the herbs from bunny nature botanics. They like 4 kinds so I give them a different one every day. They each get a hand full of it. Mixed with a table spoon each of the bunny nature basic pellets (which are grain free). And with that they get like 3/4 of a table spoon of their structure food which has grain in it. They both eat it really well, and depending on what herb mix I give them, they go absolutely crazy!

They like these 4 mixes (we are still in the process of finding more and different mixes they like)

(on the picture you can see the ribwort and rose petals mix in the bowl)

I quickly noticed that they are more interested in the hay as usual. Louie for example is crazy about a toy I bought by bunny nature. Its a bag filled with their vegetable hay. Due to them being so picky about hay, I also ordered new hay for them to find one they like to munch all the time. I ordered them meadow hay which is from a natural conservation by bunny nature. The hay is way more expensive than other hays but I really hope it’s worth the price and that they will like it! Otherwise I would buy the vegetable hay by bunny nature since Louie is so crazy about it. Currently they get 2 types of hay one timothy hay they get already a long time and they sort of like and another meadow hay which they were crazy about first and now they don’t really eat it anymore.

𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 We got so many kind messages thank you so much 💕 we cant text everyone back keep that in mind. 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫 is much better with his asthma he still has some trouble when eating crunchy stuff that requires a lot of chewing, or if he is nervous. Besides that he is doing really well. His weight went down and it has made a difference, I am so happy for him! 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐞‘s skin looks better, (he still is bald thats why he still wears his sweater) but the mites are gone. Sadly he stopped eating normally yesterday evening and stopped completely this morning which made me go to the vet with him immediately. He sadly found out that one of his kidneys is enlarged. He took pee samples and saw that the kidney is not working properly. It will most likely be a problem thats in his body since birth. He also said that it also might caused his skin problem. Because big problems hide longer and smaller occur. For now he is on pain medication and I feed him with critical care. If he refuses the critical care completely (he doesnt swallow it) my vet told me to just let him be, forcing him too much will make it worse. Its just sad seeing him not well after spending so much money at the vets over the last 3 months.. Our whole storytimeline you can watch in the story highlight called „vet“
